@theraf2u I don't know anything about Waits, but I've followed Pop, and i didn't know it was scripted, because Pop seems very natural and "mirrors" exactly what I assumed him to be like. Did you read my comment to yourself. Are you very young? Shit, I havent even watched this for five years, I'll watch it now.

@theraf2u What do you mean "hamming it up"? Bollocks, Iggy is hamming nothing up, he's just being himself. I don't know why Jarmusch would have made Waits into some egotistical, insecure, paranoid crackpot just for fun. This is the humble, normal guy Jim/Iggy is every day of his life (apart from when he's on a non-stop Iggy bender). Art imitating life? Hardly. Iggy and Waits exist in entirely different stratospheres, Iggy is only doing this shit to pay the bills.

@blacknganga Dude, this scene is from a MOVIE, they are hamming it up for fun in this crazy Jim Jarmusch flick. You can't take their performances in this scene as a reflection on their actual, real life character traits the same way that you it would be preposterous to believe Sam Worthington really IS an Avatar or that Mel Gibson truly behaves like the mysterious, tough hombre from the Mad Max movies.
