By 9 days out most of the tenderness should be gone. It is not normal to hurt that much, but what is less normal is the swelling you described. I would be concerned about an infection. At the very least you should be seen by your doctor and it decided if antibiotics, opening incision, removing the port or just that nothing should be done.

MRSA is very common in hospitals. It can be transmitted by anyone (doctor, nurse, family member) that didnt wash their hands properly. I dont know what the lawsuit entails so I cant really say much more then that.

Someone I know had lap band surgery. It is not without risks. The doctor is very well known and reccomended. He scheduled several patients the day of her surgery. She waited at least 12 hours after her scheduled surgery. She ended up with MRSA. After checking out this very popular doctor, he has had 5 lawsuits and settlements since 2000. Hers will be the 6th.Check your dr out thoroughly before surgery.

I had the lapband in February 2008 and I've lost 40 lbs so far! You have to exercise. The fat is not going to just go away because u have the band. It just helps you not to overeat. U still have to work.

What the hell? I just lie on the "Flouroscope", ex-ray machine thing and the nurse practitioner puts a needle in my stomach. A few seconds it's over. Before I get horrified that someone is sticking a needle in my guts it really is over.
